Sport Report
With the completion of the final two minor rounds of Vista competition in Weeks 8 and 9, two of our teams made it into the grand final for their competition. The Open Boys Gold Badminton team faced Parafield Gardens in the grand final match and were faced with some very strong competition. The boys competed very well and enjoyed the challenge. Parafield Gardens defeated Endeavour in straight rubbers (6-0) to be the 2019 North East Vista Badminton champions. We congratulate the boys on their final year of Vista and thank them for their ongoing participation throughout their time at Endeavour.
The Year 8 & 9 Girls Gold Netball team progressed through the minor rounds of competition undefeated and made it to the grand final to compete against Banksia Park International High School. In the first half, the team allowed Banksia to gain a substantial lead and were unable to make up the difference in the second half. All the girls played extremely well and enjoyed the terms competition, we appreciate their dedication to the Endeavour Netball program and look forward to next years competitions. Thank you to all the teachers, student coaches and parents for their ongoing support of our students and our sporting programs at Endeavour.
In Week 9 Endeavour entered five teams into the SACSA Soccer competition held on Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 September at West Beach. Each team had been training in the lead up to the carnival and showed dedication and commitment. The students enjoyed the day with each team playing several games against different schools and different levels of competition. Although we did not finish as strongly as we had hoped, all students enjoyed the day of competition, building their resilience and teamwork skills in a supportive Christian sporting environment.
We look forward to our last SACSA Volleyball carnival held at the ARC Sports Centre in Campbelltown at the start of Term 4. This year we will not be entering any Year 8 & 9 teams as the competition falls on the same day as the Year 12s final day and we would like to encourage the participation of all students on this day. Vista sports will continue for middle school students with Mixed Volleyball, Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball on offer. Signups have been emailed to all Year 8 and 9 students and are completed via the link provided in the email. We look forward to finishing the year positively in sport and wish all the students the best of luck with their studies for the remainder of the year.
