Vision for Learning - Pathways

Year 10 Mock Interviews
Our Personal Learning Pathway’s program continues next term with the Year 10 students developing their skills in applying for and obtaining an entry level job. Students are required to complete a written application including a Resume and Cover letter. They then undertake a ‘mock’ job interview for the position they are applying for. Past students have always commented on the value of this experience in preparing them for the challenges faced in applying for jobs now, and into the future. The Mock Interviews will take place on Thursday 14 November here at the College.
In order for this day to run effectively we require volunteers from our College community to act as interviewers. We do have some ‘regulars’ we are able to call on but we are always on the lookout for more volunteers. We would love to have some of our parents involved in this program (no experience required!) so I am hopeful that you will call or email me at the College with an offer to assist on 83683311 or email me on annie.fitridge@endeavour.sa.edu.au. All details and information regarding the interview session is provided along with a very tasty morning tea. The interviews run from 9.00am until approximately 12.30pm.

Year 12 Transition Counselling
Senior Staff have now met with all Year 12 students to ensure they have created a Pathway Plan as they transition into further education or employment. We were pleased with the way the students had researched areas of interest and were able to express their plans. Applications for SATAC need to be completed and paid for before the close of business on Monday 30 September 2019 for 2020 entry into University. TAFE applications can also be complete through SATAC but have no cost involved – the ideal backup plan.

Our College Pathways website offers a Career Events Calendar specific to South Australia. This resource provides many opportunities to learn about career and course opportunities offered by different organisations such as TAFE SA information sessions, Torrens University, Defence Force Recruiting and many more. There is a new short video explaining the value of Vocational Education (VET) in the New World of work. Check it out! https://www.endeavourpathways.com.au/
