2020 Course Selection For Year 10’s

Before we all know, it’ll be time for Year 10’s to start counselling and choosing courses for their senior years. So it’s important to note the following details which you can place onto your family calendar (or into your diary).

  • From now Year 10 students will commence course counselling with either their allocated counsellor OR in the case of those doing Career and Job Investigations in 2nd semester, they will be counselled during class time.
  • Thursday 22nd August (10:00 – 12:45, 3:00 – 6:15) Course selection day for Year 10’s. Parents to phone and book in an appointment time to bring their student along. Please note: this is a student free day for Year 10’s only!

For further details contact Graeme Crosbie (College Careers practitioner) or Greg Bristol (VCE/VCAL co-ordinator)

Year 9 Students

Parents will be aware that last term most Year 9’s completed an online career aptitude and interest survey. However, not all students finished these. It would be a great shame to not make the most of this and the subsequent career interview with a trained counsellor that will use these results. It’s entirely the student’s responsibility to log on to www.morrisby.com and do so if they haven’t, we’d hope that parents of these students would encourage their child to do so within the next week.  From Wed 7th Aug (until Fri 23rd Aug.) we have at various stages two professional career advisors available to conduct these interviews. The times for appointments each day are strictly - 9.00 – 9.45, 9.50 – 10.35, 10.40 – 11.00 (Recess), 11.00 – 11.45, 11.45 – 12.30, 12.30 – 1.15*(HG/Lunch), 1:45 – 2:30, 2:30 – 3:15 or 3:25 – 4:10. Parents are welcome to sit in on these interviews. Please book your child’s appointment by calling Jess in the main office (5820 9900), places are filling fast.
