who is your support crew?

Famous racer Lightning McQueen is in tip top shape. He is rust free, his engine runs smoothly, he is fast, agile and fit. He wins national championship races and almost everyone knows him, he is one of the most famous cars in America. Lightning McQueen doesn’t achieve all of this alone though.

McQueen has a support crew to pump his gas, change his tyres, clean and polish him and check his engine. He has a crew who support him, encourage him and ensure that he is performing at his best.

In our own lives, we have food and water to nourish us and ensure our bodies are performing at its best. We have spouses, friends and family who encourage us and support us. They love us and ‘fill our tanks’ when we are running low on energy or joy.

In Psalm 54:4 it tells us ‘Look, God is my deliverer! He is among those who support us.’

God is the head of our personal support crew. He is always there cheering us on, topping up our engine, loving us, protecting us and supporting us. God is there to support us even in times when we don’t think we need him. Even in times where we think we can do it all ourselves, without the help of our support crew, God is always there. God is among those who support us!
