Home Learning

Hey everyone,

So we know that home learning is quite different to what we are used to, but we may as well make the most of it. We decided to share with you guys some advice, opinions and tips on home learning.

Advice:

We know that most of you guys are probably completing school work on a device, and that’s totally okay. But you also need to get some exercise and fresh air during the process. We recommend that you should have a break after every subject or every 45 minutes. Talk to your parents to see if you can get a step tracker, aim for 10,000 steps everyday! It will make the day more enjoyable, feel less restricting and most importantly, keep you fit and healthy!

Opinions:

We have asked some students for their take on home learning:

It is definitely different, but I’m still coping

I really miss my friends and teachers but I enjoy class google meets as everyone can talk, and socialise with each other

I like home learning because I get to spend much more time with my families and pets

We also asked some teachers for their take on home learning:

It is strange getting up and going to work in my lounge room

It is so quiet at school without everyone running around and the rooms full of students

I’m missing not having everyone at school

It is a great opportunity for students to develop their independence and IT skills

Tips:

Plan your day ahead, you don’t have to finish by 10am in the morning!

If you finish early and would like some fun activities to do make sure to check the bottom of your work grid for some fun ideas

Work near your family members or pets instead of sitting in a room by yourself

Start getting in the routine of waking up when you would on a normal school day to get in the habit of starting school

Take the opportunity to spend more time with your family and pets.

So keep on working hard, checking in with your teachers, taking care of your family and remember to take care of yourself!

We look forward to when we all go back to school!
