From the School Captains

School Captains Angel Phillips and Vishal Ramesh

‘Community is built off the efforts of many, not just the powerful few. It is born through collective hardship and individual ambition. Through perseverance and pursuit. For us to truly form a community in which all people are respected, free and never lacking opportunity, the best thing we can do is to encourage others to strive for their goals, however challenging the journey may be.

Potential is abstract and unlimited. It lives within everyone but the difficulty in harnessing it lies in the appreciation of its existence. We would like everyone to realise their potential and act accordingly to allow it to flourish and make this whole world more beautiful and magical than it already is.’

The above passage will act as our mission statement for the coming year and for the journey of life that follows. This message is what we wish to convey to the students of Huntingtower through our position as role models. We hope to exemplify this concept through our own actions and by supporting the aspirations of others.

Every student’s potential is unlimited, but that does not mean success is guaranteed or that anything is easily achievable. Rather, it takes hard work, dedication and commitment. Therefore, whilst every student has an abundance of potential, that potential must be unlocked. As a community, we will look to unlock this potential and strive not for perfection, but for unrivalled effort when approaching all imminent ventures.

We look forward to highlighting the essential characteristics of Huntingtower that make it the comfortable and nurturing learning environment that it is. We also hope to provide a reformed interpretation of some characteristics, with an emphasis on student involvement and student voice.
