Inquiry Centre

Curriculum

As always it was another exciting week in the Inquiry Centre. Thank-you to all of the parents and students who attended 3-Way Conferences. It was wonderful for students to have the opportunity to share some of the work they have been doing over the term.

In Writing, students have been busy publishing their Narrative story they have created throughout the term. All the teachers and students have been excited to see everyones final product, with many students typing and printing their stories to turn into books. Literacy sessions focused on summarising texts. Students retold stories using ‘Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then’, and upleveled this by including more detail.

In Mathematics, we continued exploring Place Value by learning about renaming numbers using hundreds, tens and ones, as well as discovering all of the different ways to make numbers. For example the number 6 can be made up of 3 and 3, or 1 and 5, or 2 and 4. I wonder how many different ways can you make the number 15?

Last week in Guided Inquiry, students created a timeline about their future selves. They drew images of what they may look like as a teenage and adult, and also the different types of things they would do.

Have a fantastic week and stay safe over the School Holidays.
