2016 Essential Education Contributions
Any families who have not yet paid the 2016 Excursion Payment Scheme and wish to do so are asked to please pay by Friday 5th Feburary.
Payments can be made by cash or cheque and sent via your child's classroom cash bag in an envelope clearly labelled with your child's Name, Class and name of payment. If paying in cash please send correct amount as limited change is available.
Alternatively, payments of cash, cheque or EFTPOS can be made in person at the office between the hours of 8:15am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Phone payments or manual credit card payments will not be accepted. Limited change is available if making cash payments.
OPS Building Fund
Did you know we have a Building Fund?
Thank you to those families who have already made donations to the Ormond Primary School Building Fund as a part of the 2015 and 2016 Contributions.
We are aiming to raise $35,000 through donations to the Building Fund which will be put towards the painting of the Junior School building, the Hall and the Portable Classroom wing.
Tax deductible donations for any families wishing to make a donation are still welcome.
Please note that any Building Fund Donations must be paid in cash or a Cheque made out to 'Ormond Primary School Building Fund'.

Student Banking
Student Banking will begin next Thursday 11th Feburary.
If you wish to sign your child up for student bankning please contact Brodie in the office or visit your local Commonwealth Bank Branch or website.
Icy Pole Day
Icy Pole Day will begin on Thursday 11th Feburary.
Students will be able to purchase icypoles for 50c each Thursday lunchtime during Term 1.
Lost Property Volunteer
Do you have a spare hour a week?
We are looking for a parent volunteer to assist us in maintaing the lost property cupboard here at Ormond Primary.
If you are interested or would like to find out more information of what is involved, please contact Brodie in the office.
1:1 iPad Program
We are very excited about the continuation of our 1:1 iPad Program in Year 5 & 6 in 2016 and expanding the program to now include our Year 4 students.
It is now time to finalise the commitment to the program to ensure the smooth commencement of the program. Many parents have alreay completed this process and for that we thank you. We ask that all parents who have not yet competed this process to please do so.
Please read through the attached ‘Information Booklet’. This will help you to understand why we are moving in this direction and to better understand how this program will be implemented.
Please return the ‘Commitment to Program’ form by Monday 8th February.
The ‘Digital Technologies Acceptable Use Agreement’ detailing the specific guidelines and requirements that need to be understood and adhered to is attached. Please make sure this is read carefully with your child, and have it signed by yourself and your child and returnthe entire booklet along with the ‘Commitment to Program’ form.
Families should have received an apps list sent home this week with redemption codes to download the required school apps. If you have not recieved these codes please speak to you childs classroom teacher.

2016 Prep - Year 3 Digital Technologies Acceptable Use Agreement
Please find attached below the Digital Technologies Acceptable Use Agreement for 2016 Prep to Year 3 students.
This booklet must be read by parents and the acceptable use of ICT equipment and programs at Ormond Primary School explained to their children. Parents are then asked to sign the acceptance page and return the entire booklet to the office by the end of 2015.
* Please Note - 2016 Preps would have already received this agreement in their information packs.
Out of School Hours
Program Coordinator Availability
April is available to answer questions and provide program information to families Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 10.30am or between 3.00pm to 3.20pm.
April is also happy to meet with parents for meetings at an agreed specified time. Please be appreciateive that it is too busy for the staff to answer questions during session times, particulary when settling children into the After School Session during afternoon tea from 3.25pm to 4.00pm.
Before School Care
Parents if your child requires breakfast at Before School Care please ensure you arrive before 8.10am. Breakfast and hot and cold drink orders close at 8.10am this allows children enough time to eat, before the programs packs up the Before School Care session.
Before School Care Dental Hygiene
Children attending Before School Care who have breakfast at the program, will be required to clean their teeth after breakfast. Children will be required to bring a new tooth brush in a plastic toothbrush container with a lid. The toothbrush will be kept in its container at the program. We will provide the tooth paste, water and cups.
Before & After School Care Cancellations
Children enrolled in The Before & After School Care Program are expected to attend on the days they are booked. Please ensure you contact the program if your child is not attending for a booked session. If your child is absent from school please phone the program as well as the school. The school office is not responsible for informing the Out of School Hours Program of student absentee’s. There is no additional cost for cancellations if parents contact the service within the given time frame, please refer to cancellation information provided with your enrolment form. For cancellations please use the program diary on the sign out desk in the hall or leave a message on the 24 hour answering machine.
Before School Care Cancellation Fee Table
The following fees apply for cancellations.
- Failure to cancel booking - Full Fee
- Cancellation after 6pm the night before or the morning care is required - Half Fee
- Cancellation the day before care is required - No charge is the program is notified before 6pm the day before care is required.
- Cancellation on the morning care is required due to illness and the child is not attending school - no charge if the program is notified.
After School Care Cancellations
The program must be informed of After School Care Cancellations by 9.00 am on the day care is required. Families can inform the program of cancellations by phone or by writing a message in the program diary, located on the sign out desk. Families who fail to cancel or contact the program late on the day care is required will be charged at the full
After School Care rate. Please Note: Child Care Benefit or Rebate does not apply to cancellation fees.

Child Care Rebate Unlike day care, Child Care Rebate in Out of School Hours is paid quarterly this is due to variations in bookings and cancellations fees. Families usually receive their Child Care Rebate reimbursement payment for term one, within four weeks of the second term . The Child Care Rebate for the January School Holiday Program will be included with the first Child Care Rebate reimbursement in term two.
Before & After School Care Fees Parents will receive a notice regarding fees the collection of accounts and payments next week.
