China Tour

Our students showed school values throughout the entire tour: they were respectful of each other and everyone around us in China; they were responsible of their own actions and belongings; they showed outstanding resilience embracing all the cultural shocks and challenges and they also worked as a team and really looked after each other. I feel so grateful to be able to travel and share this amazing adventure with this group of wonderful young people!

Student Reflections

The 2019 China trip was a trip full of memories and experiences I will never forget. I had so much fun talking to everyone on the trip, learning more about China and working together with everyone as a whole. The scenes and views were amazing and the planning of the trip was brilliant. The hotels were just as dazzling as the mountain views we climbed to see. This trip gave me experiences that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else. A big thank you to Miss Tian for being amazing and I am eternally grateful for the hard work she put into the group and making sure everything ran smoothly and with as much fun as possible. I highly recommend this tour, as it brought about friendships, memories and most of all, a whole heap of fun.

The 2019 China trip was - to say the least - one of the most immersive and fun trips I have ever been on with a school. We visited three really different yet pleasant cities in mainland China and also in Hong Kong. Each city provided us with a new experience every time we got off the plane. We were always greeted pleasantly by our tour guide and the public as well. Of course, this trip was all about the culture, but it was hard not to learn a few things as well! And don’t even get me started on the fact that we were practically celebrities wherever we went. I have to admit, I was quite nervous the first day we arrived, but all my fears were stripped away when I realised I was going to have an amazing time.

On the school holidays, myself along with 22 DSC students and 3 teachers went to China. We went to Chengdu, Suzhou, Nanjing and Hong Kong. One of my favourite parts was seeing the giant pandas in Chengdu. They were so fluffy and really funny to watch. I also enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery of the mountains and the water village. The food was also a highlight and I enjoyed every one of my meals. I have so many great memories of the trip.

The 2019 school trip to China was great. 23 students and 3 teachers went, and everyone had a fantastic time. Going to locations such as the big Buddha, Suzhou’s gardens and more was intriguing and amazing. Seeing the different parts of China was interesting, as it showed all aspects of China there was to see and explore. In the end, it was an unforgettable experience that I will always remember!

The 2019 China Tour was a really fun and memorable experience. I enjoyed it so much - met many new people, learnt heaps about Chinese culture and ate lots of delicious food. We stayed in 4 different places, for a couple of nights each: Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hong Kong. We visited many temples, gardens, mountains and markets, and spent a day in Disneyland Hong Kong! As tiring as they were, the mountain climbs were great fun, and the views were so beautiful. It was really interesting to see the cultural differences and compare cities in China with the cities here. The locals loved to take photos and videos with us too! Overall, I had an amazing time and am sad that it's over now. Huge thanks to Ms Tian for working SO hard to make sure the tour was a great success. Thanks to everyone else who helped organise the tour and give us this opportunity.

The 2019 China Tour was a 10 day trip to China. In China, we visited four different cities: Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hong Kong. In each city, we had a tour guide, but we also had our own free time to explore. The food in China was delicious. You could smell amazing Chinese spices when you entered a food street. The smell could overwhelm your nose with pleasant smells of food and if you ever go to Hong Kong, you must eat the egg puffs. Not only that, but there were times for Chinese learning students to use their Chinese skills and expand their skills. Not only did our Chinese skills expanded, but we even learnt new information about the Chinese culture and some interesting phrases such as "来打我!" (which means fight me!). Other than learning wonderful phrases, we learned to develop skills such as socialising with others, perseverance and also the school values. Everyone on the trip laughed and smiled, there was not a day where people were sad. For example, there was one day that the foreigners/ the non-Asians got a lot of attention from students and even had a line to take photos. It was extremely hectic, though very funny. The overall trip was magnificent, but there were some hard times like having to wake up early to travel and when we had to change our itinerary. Ms Tian, the organiser of the trip, was amazing when it came to everything. She was outgoing, understanding and solved many problems. If there is a chance to go on the China Tour, you must go to experience the culture and food, but also to create unforgettable memories with the people you meet.

The 2019 China Trip was a 10 day trip in the Term 1 holiday which commenced on April the 6th to the 15th. Students from year levels 9 to 12 visited 4 well-known cities in China: Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hong Kong. During the trip, we were all able to learn more about Chinese culture and history as well as gaining an understanding of how people lived in China by visiting many famous tourist landmarks. This trip also allowed students who studied Chinese to improve and apply their language skills. Overall the trip helped us make new friends and learn new things. Although the trip was only 10 days, many unforgettable memories were made.

The 2019 China Cultural tour was a huge success. It was filled with luscious gardens, bustling markets, ancient temples, and lots of laughs. We even spent a day at Disneyland in Hong Kong! Insightful tours meant that we could compare different parts of China, especially differences in food and culture. One example was Chengdu and its spicy food. Located in the Sichuan province, Chengdu had delicious spicy dishes. Our group tried hot pot which was really entertaining! A big thank you to Miss Tian for all her efforts taking care of all 26 of us. Overall, the 2019 China Tour was an experience to remember.

During the Term 1 holiday from the 6th of April to the 16th of April, a group of students from Year 9-12 went on a 10-day tour of four different places in China: Chengdu, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hong Kong. During this trip, we were able to visit many famous and popular tourist attractions and learn more about the culture in China while seeing how people in China lived on a daily basis. For the students who learnt Chinese at school, this trip gave us a chance to enhance our learning of the language and practice our skills. This trip also allowed us to make new friends with people we may not have known before the trip. Overall although the trip was only a 10-day trip, it was a great learning experience and very fun.
