Flora & Fauna

During the past two Tuesdays in remote and flexible learning, Level 3 students were given the option of choosing one or more activities from our adapted Flora and Fauna programme. Please find below an updated rotation schedule for the remainder of Term 3.

Cooking

In our first week at home, students were encouraged to help their family cook dinner or make a favourite recipe. We loved seeing all the photos of our talented students making cupcakes, chicken & vegetable soup, waffles, vegetarian pasta, bread in a bag, pizza dough and much more! Our second week at home saw Mrs O’Keefe post a video teaching students how to make Chocolate choc-chip mug cake. Mug cakes are a quick an easy treat that allow the students to practise their measuring and mixing skills as well as cleaning up once they are finished! Thank you Mrs O’Keefe!

We are looking forward to being back in the kitchen again, continuing with our first recipe for this term, Pakora, which was thoroughly enjoyed by our first cooking group and will no doubt be enjoyed by the remaining four groups.

Science & Sustainability

In Science we continued our unit on Melting Moments and students had fun creating 3 different ways to melt ice. They chose a melting method and timed how long it took to melt. Our young Scientists certainly enjoyed getting messy! In Sustainability we looked at the impact our Ecological Footprint has on the environment.

Garden Harvest & Garden Maintenance

Gardening at home over the two weeks required students to help around the garden by raking, trimming, mowing and general tidy up of their home garden spaces, in addition to designing a scarecrow that could be built at a later date or over the next school holidays.
