Dunhelen

We come to the end of Semester One and I would like to wish all students and families a well-deserved break.

Year 7 Home Experiments

The students worked very well during the last period of Home Learning and it was great to see both students and staff jump back in and carry on. Well done to all! Look at some of the fun experiments Year 7 students completed at home.

Year 9 Service Project

The Year 9 students have just completed a semester of Service Learning; however, we have had to postpone our ‘Funhelen Day’ until next term. The students have been involved not only in the service component of the program but also in the evaluation process. This learning helps develop lifelong skills required in the ever-changing world we live in. Please click on the link provided to view an article which featured in a teacher magazine, 'The Educator'.

The article has led to us being contacted by another school who is interested in what we are doing. A very big thank you to staff who work on the project and a bigger thank you to the students who have taken on the tasks with such enthusiasm and positivity.

My Aitken Comments and Semester Report

As always, please take the time to sit with your child and go through their My Aitken comments and Semester Report. Allow them to discuss with you what areas they would like to improve on and how they think they can achieve their goals. Interest and involvement in your child’s education can provide many benefits, not just in the area of learning outcomes but also in the child’s social and personal development.

Stay safe and enjoy a restful winter break.
