Use of e-cigarettes or ‘Vaping’

There is increasing concern in Australia and across the world about teenage use of e-cigarettes. Although use of tobacco cigarettes has declined among young people, their take-up of ‘vaping’ has been alarming and the physical and mental health risks are becoming more apparent.

Use of e-cigarettes is included as part of drug education in the College’s Life Skills program. I encourage parents to familiarise themselves with this issue and initiate conversation with their children. Attached to this page are some parent guides to having such a conversation.

Semester One Congratulations

After a first semester that began with a short lockdown, continued with a welcome return to a “normal” March to May period and then finished with another lockdown, I congratulate students and families on successfully navigating the year so far. Best wishes to all in the Aitken community for an enjoyable mid-year break.
