Principal's Message

                                                                     Mrs Josie Crisara

End of Semester

As Semester One comes to a close, we should remind ourselves how adaptable we have been as students, parents and staff in meeting not just the normal program of a school but also the ability to adjust programs with lockdowns. It was with a sense of relief that many of the school events scheduled for Semester One were able to be held. The co-curricular programs are important enrichment activities for our students. Summary student reports will be distributed during the first week of the holidays. Feedback to students on work tasks is accessible via My Aitken.

Primary School Building Project

Progress is continuing on the new Stage 1 Primary School Project with foundation works almost complete. During the term break services work will be undertaken around parts of our ring road with most sections being closed off. There will be no turning at the roundabout to the lower ring road and the section of road outside the Administration and bus area will also be blocked off. If you have any need to attend the school during this time, you will need to use the staff carpark for parking and walk across to access Reception.

Staff Changes

We wish Miss Hannah Petterson all the best as she takes Parental Leave and welcome Mr Kyle Parkinson as the class teacher for Year 1A. Mr Jevon Scandrett will be assuming the role of Assistant Head of School (Primary) for Years 1 and 2.

We thank Miss Steph Chen who has been the Long Service Leave replacement for Mr Linden Koodravsev and we look forward to welcoming him back for Term 3.

Ms Sherry Perryman will be taking Long Service Leave in Term 3 and we wish her well during this period of renewal.  Mr Ian Watson and Ms Emma Pawson will be taking up her classes.

ResourceSmart Schools Certification

The school was recently advised that we have been recognised as a 4Star certified school after completing the Core Module, Water Module, Waste Module and Energy Module as part of the certification. Achieving 4STAR status recognises the College’s commitment to creating sustainable practices, infrastructure, integrated learning and acting on climate change. Thank you to Mr Dwayne Ganci, Sustainability Coordinator, the staff and students who have worked hard to achieve this.

Safe Holidays

I hope that all families are able to enjoy the upcoming holidays, albeit not necessarily travelling very far. Keep safe!
