ART SMOCKS

ALL Seniors students will need to have an Art Smock by the 10th August for their next lesson as we will be working with terra cotta clay, which can be messy and stain. Art smocks can be a parent’s old shirt that fits over the uniform.  The students in Learning Spaces 2 and 3 were reminded this week so could you please check with your child if they have one at school or need one.

Thank you

REMOTE LEARNING IMPORTANT MESSAGE

– LS2 Juniors –

Clinic 3 Writing

During remote learning, Clinic 3 used a COVID Picture Prompt to support their writing.  They looked at ways we can make sure we are staying safe at home, school and in the community.

They have demonstrated their learning by creating posters to display in our Learning Space. Someone even chose to present his learning through a news report. We hope you all stay safe.

Who’s ready to have some fun with the MS Readathon?

For the month of August there are going to be weekly activities for the children to complete and return. Week One’s task will go home this Monday and can be returned to the classroom anytime through to the following Monday. A new activity will go home each Monday. There will always be spare forms in the office.

There will be winners for each activity, one junior and one senior from each learning. Every returned activity will also earn their house a point, so make sure you’re giving it a go.

Make sure to watch out in morning gathering for some fun book trivia questions through the month.

We cannot wait to have some fun with reading!!

Did you know…..

In Harry Potter, whenever you saw Harry, Ron and Hermione doing schoolwork in the movies, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were actually doing their homework.

(They were doing remote learning WAY before we were!!!)

SPORTS NEWS

It’s so exciting to be back at school!!

CHANGES TO FOOTBALL AND SOCCER CLINICS

Unfortunately with our current restrictions our soccer and football clinics are on hold until further notice. Unfortunately we are not allowed to have visitors to the school currently. So there will be no football clinics for the Juniors next week as planned. I will be rebooking them for later in the term and notify parents via Operoo.

CHANGES TO INTERSCHOOL SPORTS

Currently we are not able to be involved in Interschool Sports or Regional Cross Country as schools are not allowed to mix. The Grade 5/6 students will continue their training on Fridays and hopefully later this term we will be able to start interschool sports again. The Grade 3/4 students will continue their Interschool Sports rotations on Fridays.

ATHLETICS

We will continue trialling students in preparation for District Athletics in Week 7. We will be holding tryouts next Wednesday 4th August and then Tuesday 10th August. Students will be notified through Morning Gathering of when their tryouts will be. We hope that by Week 7 we will be able to attend District Athletics however it will be dependent on restrictions for schools easing. We will inform the students of this during tryouts.

GRADE 3/4 SOCCER FINALS

Today the Grade 3/4 students completed their soccer finals which they didn’t get a chance to finish on soccer fun day last term due to the weather. We will have the results for you next week!
