Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s been an unusual start to the Term with lockdown starting from the first Friday of the Term. While this is a challenging start to the term after all the planning, we embrace our circumstances and move quickly to a responsive mode of functioning that we have been called to be in this world today.

The news of the lockdown came late on Thursday evening, but our team of staff had already thought ahead and planned for the next few days of remote learning before school ended on Thursday. So our students went home armed with writing books, Dojo logins and passwords, Google logins and passwords and some learning packs. We had the Friday to plan for remote learning and promptly from Monday, all our online learning platforms were up and ready for students to engage with.

We understand the enormous pressure that remote and online learning puts on working parents, so we are really thankful for all the hard work and submissions of work coming through to the teachers. The teachers have been talking about how happy the children seem when they see each other on Google Meets. It is a reminder of the fact that our children see the value in the connections they have with their friends and with their teachers. It is this shared experience that brings us together as a community.

Over the next few days, should you have any queries or concerns about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to contact us at school on 95460044.

Stay home and stay safe, we are all in this together.

Kindest Regards
