Debating – CSDA Metropolitan Championships

This coming Friday evening will see the College’s 11A, 9B and 8A Senior School teams take part in the Grand Finals of the CSDA Metropolitan Debating Championships. This event will be hosted at Christian Brothers’ High School Lewisham located at 68 The Boulevarde, Lewisham. Congratulations are extended to the boys and coaches of these respective teams along with Mrs Lombardo and Mrs Burgess for all that they have done to get our students to the Grand Finals.

This is a fantastic achievement given there are over 80 schools competing and SPC

have three teams taking up a quarter of the spots available at this stage of the competition. It appears as though the competition will commence with the coin toss at around 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM with the debates then commencing around 6:30 PM. Please note that these times are to be confirmed. Best wishes are extended to these boys, and I take this opportunity to acknowledge and commend the members of the 8A team who were narrowly beaten in their Semi-Final.

I would encourage all members of the St Patrick’s College community to go along and support the above-mentioned teams if you are able to do so. A reminder that student supporters must wear their full Winter College Uniform.

Mock Trial

I am pleased to inform the community that members of the College’s Mock Trial team won their last contest against the girls from St Ursula’s College and in doing so have reached the round of 32. This year’s results are quickly replicating last year’s achievements and we wish the boys and coaches, Christian Habib and James Herberstein the best of luck in their endeavour to make the final round.
