Parent FAQ Reminders

Signing In & Out (Late Collection)

Thank you for remembering to sign your child in and out each session.  Under the Family Assistance Law, it is caregivers responsibility to do this and to notify us if your child will not be in attendance.

Families who are late collecting their child after 6pm will be charged a $20 late fee for the first 15 minutes and $1 per minute after this. Late fees do not attract CCS.  We ask families to collect their child before 6pm so that staff are leaving on time.  If you wish to discuss your child's day, please arrive earlier or make a time to speak with your child's Lead Educator.

Children who are still onsite at 3:20pm will be automatically signed into the Afternoon Program and may attract an additional late fee if not collected by 3:45pm.  Our Afternoon Program is now at capacity so we ask for families who are not meeting with an Educator to kindly sign out so that our Afternoon Team can settle our children in for the session.

Change to Attendance

With the Centre nearing capacity on most days, changes of attendance can not be guaranteed for the remainder of 2023.  Families who are continuing in 2024, will be able to enter into a new Complying Written Agreement in November.

Library Visits

Each week our children either attend the Library of Mrs Janetzki our Library Educator comes to Curiosity to process new books with the children.  To support the process, we as families to support their child in placing their folder in the basket on their borrowing day (tag on bag will notify you what day your child is borrowing), and then notice their name at the end of the day to collect their folder from the bench seats in the entry.

We thank you for your support with this and hope you enjoy those quiet moments of sitting together with some good books.

Uniform (Beanies)

Curiosity has lead the way in bringing in beanies for the GSLSPV community.  It is wonderful seeing so many children wearing them now and often not taking them off.  Please ensure that these are clearly named and that your child recognises where their name is placed.

As this is now a uniform item, we ask that beanies which are not GSLSPV branded be only navy blue to align to our Uniform policy.  Thank you for your support with this.

If you wish to purchase one, feel free to jump onto the Qkr app and order one to be delivered to the Centre.

Lunch Boxes (Nut free and Nude food)

Please remember that our ELC and school is a NUT FREE environment.  We ask families to not pack nuts or products that contain nuts such as Nutella and peanut butter.  The supermarket does sell a product call WowButter that tastes like peanut butter.  The container holds stickers that can be placed on the sandwich will assists our educators in knowing that this is a nut free product.

We take great pride in being a Centre that is sustainable in our practices around hard waste, reusable packaging and organic matter.  Because of this, we ask families to send along lunchboxes that where possible free of rubbish.  The children place their organic waste in our Green Bins which is then placed in the worm farm or composted.  All other rubbish is sent home within the lunchbox for parents to recycle or discard of.  As we encourage healthy eating at the site, please note that lollies and chocolates will be placed aside for children to eat at home.

When we take the time to view series such as 'War on Waste' it is possible to see what responsibility we can take to promote awareness and good sustainable practices for our future generations and ourselves.  I encourage you to take the time to view some of these episodes.
