IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
AUGUST BREAKDOWN - IN THE LIBRARY
MS Readathon
The MS Readathon takes place throughout August. This great cause is back again this year, it raises awareness while promoting reading. The library will provide students with book tally sheets to record the number of books read. These tally sheets can be filled out both at home and school. Each page completed and filled out will result in a prize, and the student with the most pages completed by the end of the month will be in the running for a grand prize! So please get involved! Tally sheets will be available to all from P-12 and can be collected from the library and the main office.
Book Week
CBCA Book Week is just around the corner, running from Monday the 21 to the 25 August! This year’s theme is ‘Read, Grow, Inspire.’ As the library loves to get involved with all things reading and books, we will be running some fun activities to be implemented into library borrowing sessions. Including; the MS Readathon and the Scholastic Book Fair. Book week is a great opportunity to apply and have fun with literacy. The Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) runs the nationwide campaign annually. They shortlist and award some fantastic books each year in many categories, along with classroom resources and fun activities. Please check out their website if you are interested to learn more: https://cbca.org.au/
