Bringing Books to Life - Feast of Fictional Favourites

Last Wednesday evening, the Year 7 Enhanced English class ran an event called the ‘Feast of Fictional Favourites’. Throughout the unit, students completed a range of tasks based on a book of their choosing. On the night, we had to dress up as one of the characters from our books as well perform in role and be that character. We created ‘giveaways’ to give to the parents as well as questions for the parents to ask. We really enjoyed the experience because it was super interactive for guests to ask us questions about our book. It was a different experience to unpacking the texts in class but it was very engaging and allowed us to be creative. Everyone’s confidence grew amazingly. It was fun talking to others –  7C English class.

It was a very interesting event where we talked about our books – Roahn

This experience was fun and interactive. I loved doing the activities in class and was overall a wonderful experience – Olivia

It was a very meaningful experience, and it is certainly something I will remember for many years to come – Sehaj

I found the night amazing, and it was an extraordinary experience. It was really fun dressing up as your character and acting like you were actually them. The Feast of Fictional Favourites event is one I know I will never forget – Thinuli
