Book week
Book Week is coming up on Monday 21 - Friday 25 August. Book Week is an opportunity to celebrate Australian literature.
As part of the week, we will be holding our annual book character parade on Wednesday 23 August where students dress as their favourite book character. This year's theme is “Read, Grow, Inspire.
All Primary students can come to school in their favourite book character costume. The Parade will commence at 9:00am on the Primary tennis courts. Parents and Carers of primary children are invited to attend the parade.
Secondary students have the option of wearing their favourite book character costume. Any Secondary students not in costume are expected to wear full school uniform. The Secondary Book character Parade will be held at lunchtime in the Resource Centre.
Families are encouraged to donate a gold coin to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, a community-led group which responds to requests from remote communities for culturally relevant books. Donations will be collected by Class teachers (Primary) and Tutor Group teachers (Secondary).
Book character costumes are to be in line with our school policy regarding appropriate dress at school.
We look forward to seeing our MAG community of students as their favorite book character on August 23.
