Cobaw Athletics Comp - Bendigo

It was a fantastic day of Athletics in Bendigo last week, where Newham PS students did our school very proud, being incredible sports and trying their best, while earning quite a few ribbons along the way. We really appreciated the wonderful support of parents who helped to conduct the races and triple jump, as well as get students where they needed to go. Special congratulations to Jessie, who is progressing through to represent Newham PS in shotput at the next level, division in September.

PE with Kyneton High Students

This term we have had the Sport Education VM students from Kyneton High School come to teach us some ball skills and is proving to be a really successful program for all students. The students have developed lovely relationships and the older students are doing a superb job of keeping everyone engaged and active. In the beginning of term students focused on basketball skills, which they all enjoyed. This second half of term the students are focusing on soccer skills such as dribbling and passing. All in all, the program is proving to be a big hit for all involved!
