OSHC News

Look what's been happening in OSHC

The Reception children with Team Leaders Kulwinder and Udari have been focussing on learning through nature. The children went on a nature walk around the school, used natural resources to inspire creativity, experienced natural sensory play, and then made bird feeders in the Adventure Garden to feed the birds!

The Juniors with Team Leaders Ben and Lucy have planned a multicultural week,  the children looked at what different sports are played around the world eg cricket, soccer, and basketball. They also made pavlova from Australia, looked at Spanish art, and had multicultural dancing, danced to songs from different countries like the Macarena (Spanish), Chicken dance (Swiss), and Tarantella (Italian). This week the junior children have been focusing on animals and have designed their own animals, and watched a David Attenborough documentary on different animals worldwide!

The Middle children with Team Leader Lidia celebrated the FIFA World Cup for a multicultural week. They created their own soccer player puppets, then in groups they stuck their puppets onto foosball boards and versed each other in a friendly game of foosball. They also combined with the Juniors for an afternoon of lots of fun dancing to many songs from different cultures. This week the children have been exploring animals, making animal puzzles, fruit and vegetable snakes, and watching a documentary on safari animals.

This term the Primary children with Team Leaders Laura and Jess are focusing on children’s voice. The children enjoyed free choice sports and an afternoon of taste testing Skittles. This week they have made honeycomb, and stress balls and played lots of outdoor sports!

Carpark Reminder

We would like to remind families that the OSHC carpark is strictly for staff only - unless you require disability parking. This is for any time of the day, and all-weather conditions. This is due to safety concerns to ensure that no children are walking through the carpark with reversing cars and to avoid congestion with school and OSHC staff arriving/leaving for the day.

We have also noticed some parents speeding into the carpark which is extremely unsafe.

There is ample parking available on Magill Road as well as at The Tower Hotel, so please park there and enter via the gate and pathway when dropping off or collecting your child/ren from OSHC.
