Hello everyone, welcome back to Term 3 of LOTE Chinese! I am absolutely thrilled to continue our journey together. Let's dive into the wonders of the Chinese language and culture and have an amazing time learning and growing together. Get ready for an exciting adventure as we uncover new and fascinating things!
Prep:
In Prep, our young learners embarked on an exciting journey to explore the wonders of the Chinese language and culture. They recapped self-introductions, counting, and family members in Chinese. Our curious preppies delved into a vibrant world of colours, engaging in delightful colouring activities to practice and reinforce colour names in Chinese. They learned about the traditional Lion Dance and expressed creativity through drawing and painting their scenes. The little ones had an interactive experience learning about various body parts' names, enjoying drawing, and labelling in Chinese. Our Prep students have embraced the language and culture with excitement and are ready for more discoveries ahead.
Junior School:
In Junior School, our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students enthusiastically dived into the fascinating world of Chinese language and culture, embracing an immersive and interactive learning environment. They explored colours, understanding their cultural significance. Engaging activities, including writing and matching games, provided an exciting way for the students to master colour names. They took part in a hands-on activity creating traditional Chinese dumplings, fostering teamwork and creativity. Guided by the teacher, students learned about the importance of family gatherings during special occasions in Chinese culture. Our Junior School learners are eagerly anticipating the discoveries that await them this term.
Middle School:
In Middle School, our curious Grade 3 and Grade 4 students delved deeper into their LOTE Chinese learning journey, immersing themselves in a wide range of language and cultural experiences. They explored various body parts' names through interactive exercises and engaged in a creative project inspired by the adorable red panda, showcasing their language abilities and artistic talents. The students were introduced to Chinese idioms and proverbs, appreciating the cultural depth and poetic beauty of these expressions. They are excited about the cultural wonders and language challenges that await them in this term.
Senior School:
In Senior School, Grade 5 and Grade 6 students excelled in Chinese, displaying fluency and cultural awareness. They enthusiastically engaged in vocabulary-building exercises and explored traditional Chinese songs and poetry, savoring the language's melodious allure. The students' passion for learning extends beyond Chinese; they are eager to broaden their horizons and discover diverse continents of the world. Embracing the linguistic journey, they aim to deepen their appreciation for the rich Chinese language and culture while fostering a broader understanding of the global tapestry of civilizations.
As we embark on this term, I am confident that our LOTE Chinese program will continue to inspire curiosity, foster cultural appreciation, and nurture language proficiency. Let's make this term a truly memorable and enriching experience as we delve into the beauty of the language and culture together!
