Level 3/4

In Level 4, for Writing, we have continued to work on persuasive pieces by planning and beginning to write a draft a piece of writing. We have also been focusing on conjunctions to create more complex sentences and we have been looking for examples of these in our independent reading. For Reading, we have also been working on the strategy of predicting. For Maths, we have been working on addition and subtraction mental strategies such as split, compensation, doubles and jump strategies. We have started working on the Resilience Project and begun by looking at different emotions and for Inquiry, we are currently focused Geography by looking at rocks and mapping of various locations around Australia.

A reminder to all Level 4 families that we are sending home communication books on Monday mornings with information to families as well as reading, spelling and maths homework. The spelling and maths work can be put on Seesaw as teachers are also checking this. Please remember to go through this with your child, sign the book and make sure it is returned on Fridays. We are keeping a track of who is completing their work through the book and Seesaw. Thank you for your help with this. A big welcome to two new students in Level 4.

Outside the classroom Level 3 and 4 students have continued cross country training just in time to participate in our cross-country program. It was fantastic to see so many students participating in the event and cheering on all the students and buddies from across the school community. We have also had another chance to participate in the SEDA Cricket Clinics and have heard fantastic things from our sport teachers about how many students in Level 3 and 4 are coming along to run club on Thursday mornings. The staff are keeping a tally of how many laps students are doing at each session and they are being reported to our house captains. Well done to everyone taking part!

Harmony Day is coming up on Friday March 25th. We are excited to celebrate as a whole school and partner with our Year 2 buddies to work on some activities surrounding inclusiveness, diversity and respect. Remember to come dress in the clothing of your culture or the colour orange.
