Level 1/2
Level 1
What a few weeks we have had! It was fantastic to see the Level 1 students dressed in their house colours for Rangeview’s Whole School Cross Country on Friday 18th March. It was so much fun to get into the school spirit, support each other and cheer on all the house colours!
In Reading, we have been focusing on the strategies of fluency and expanding our vocabulary, keeping an eye out for new and interesting words!
In Maths, we explored the days of the week, months of the year and the seasons. We also investigated how we can measure length using informal units such as unifix or strands of wool. We had plenty of fun measuring each other and making a height chart! We also discovered that one of the classrooms is 357 unifix long!
We have been focusing on our handwriting and learning how to use the dotted third lines correctly. We have also been incorporating ‘time’ words into our diary writing such as First, Next, Then and Finally.
Finally, so much fun is being had during our Developmental Play sessions on a Friday afternoon. The students are exploring new activities, working together and taking turns – we are so proud of them!

Level 2
Wow, what an amazing fortnight jam packed with lots of learning and activities! We started off with our SEDA cricket lessons. Grade 2 students did a great job learning all about how to properly throw and catch, as well as some batting skills.
We’ve been learning all about subtraction and multiplication during maths lessons and have been practicing our editing skills in writing. In the lead up to Harmony Day and in conjunction with the National Close the Gap Day, grade 2 students have also been exploring Aboriginal culture. This week we have been looking at our Acknowledgment of Country and how we can be more inclusive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture within our classrooms.
Everyone had a fantastic day on Friday for the Rangeview Cross Country. It was fantastic to see so many students join in by dressing up in their house colours and try their best in the race.
