Flora & Fauna

We are pleased to welcome Level 3 parents/ carers to be part of their child’s learning in Flora and Fauna. We are seeking helpers in the Gallery to support Mrs O’Keefe with cooking and also to help Paddy in our beautiful gardens. If you can help out for 90 minutes on a Tuesday (11:30am-1:00pm), please complete and return the form sent home earlier this week. Our students absolutely love working with their parents during our cooking classes – lots of fun had by all! Parents also get to ‘reap the rewards’ by eating what has been created!

COOKING: The Apple and Cinnamon Scrolls have certainly been a hit and the smells wafting up through the Level 1 and Foundation classrooms have been delightful!

GARDENING: Students focused on keeping our beautiful gardens tidy in Paddy’s absence last week, and the results were certainly noticed by all teachers and students. Thank you!

SUSTAINABILIY: Students have been learning about ‘War on Waste’ in our Sustainability rotation. Students have investigated ways we can be more sustainable at school and at home. Students also explored ways of reducing waste by using biodegradable products and composting.

SCIENCE: ‘Healthy Eating Healthy Living’ is the topic for our second rotation in Science. The students have been learning about different foods and how these are grouped to support healthy lifestyles. Students investigated the role of grains, fruits, vegetables, meat & meat products, dairy (and alternatives), pulses and more.
