Climate Canons

Up & Go-ing!

Containers for Change

The Climate Canons have started the year with a bang! The organisation of the Climate Canons is a little different at the moment with students being placed in year group working parties to ensure the message of sustainability, waste management and environmental protection is being shared.

Last year, with the assistance of Mr Frick, the Climate Canons designed new Containers for Change bins which have been placed around the school and have been a huge success. In 5 weeks the College has collected 11 green bags of waste, stopping it from heading to landfill, and all that waste will be recycled into new products. Thanks to our Year 9 Climate Canons for sorting the waste and clearing the bags, the Up&Go cartons are the most liquidy and the milk cartons are the smelliest! Thank you to everyone for using the new bins correctly, keep it up!

This term the students will spread the world on International Polar Bear day and Global Recycling Day hosting information posters and quizzes to win prizes. The more we know, the more we understand and the more we want to help make a difference.

If any students would like to join the Climate Canons they can email Miss Pisconeri (dpisconeri@norbert.wa.edu.au) with their expression of interest. Below you will find the St Norbert College Climate Canons Containers for Change barcode if you’d like to make a contribution to the College.
