A weekend of success at Walcha Show

 

The Calrossy Cattle Team have scooped the pool once again with a weekend of amazing results after competing at  the Walcha Show.  After a very busy Friday morning spent setting up prepping the cattle, the Junior judging and Heifer show commenced.  Three Calrossy students , Maddison Bailey, Grace Stewart and Zoe Rudder made the finals of the Junior Judging with  Zoe placing 3rd overall amongst over 100 competitors.  Meanwhile, Kamilaroi Leisl and Kamilaroi Miss PC led by Yassie Jones and Rachel Henry placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the Senior Heifer Class. 

 

In the purebred School Steer Class, Calrossy Expresso (bred by the Scrivener Family) placed first with Calrossy Coffee (bred by G & A Newombe) second,  Calrossy Latte (bred by  B & E Bayliss) third , Calrossy Cino (also bred by B & E Bayliss) 4th and Kamilaroi Quombone (bred by Calrossy Kamilaroi Shorthorns) placed 5th out of 20 school steers.  The overall Champion steer of Walcha Show was Calrossy Espresso, with Reserve Champion Steer/carcase going to Calrossy Coffee.  

 

Not to be outdone by our cattle, Amelia Miller placed 1st in the 12 Yrs and under Paraders Class and Zoe Rudder was named Overall Champion parader in a field of over competitors

 

The outstanding results for the Calrossy Cattle Team continued on Saturday for our prized Kamilaroi Shorthorns.  Kamilaroi Touchstone paraded by Lori Lott was named Grand Champion Shorthorn Bull and Reserve Champion was Kamilaroi Leisl paraded by Yassie Jones.  The Kamilaroi Shorthorn were also named the Champion Shorthorn Breeders group.  

 

Later in the day, Calrossy Cino paraded by Zoe Rudder was named Grand Champion Steer with Reserve Champion going to Calrossy Vanilla paraded by Georgia Bailey.  Special thanks to B & E Bayliss of Baylim Limousins.
