At the commencement of each year and throughout the year, our staff engage in Professional Learning which guides and informs our practices across the College.  It’s interesting for our parents and community to be aware of some of the training that our staff regularly undertake.

At the start of each year, our Support and Teaching Staff engage in Professional Learning around Child Safety and Child Protection, as guided by a number of governance frameworks and legislative policies. All our Staff complete annual training in EREA’s Code of Conduct and in CEWA’s Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection Practices. This training applies to all Staff and includes Casual Relief Staff, Practicum Teachers, Regular Volunteers, Educational Contractors, Regular Contractors, Coaches, and Parents who attend any overnight excursion for a specific reason.

The EREA Code of Conduct:

  • Details, clarifies and affirms the standards of behaviour expected by EREA within EREA communities
  • On Signing-In, visitors are required to acknowledge the Code of Conduct
  • Is available on the College Website, the EREA Website, and through Sign-In at our College Reception
  • A Complaints Policy and outline of Procedures related to Breaches of the Code is also available on the College Website
  • Please click HERE to access the EREA Code of Conduct

CEWA’s Mandatory Reporting Training and Child Protection Practices:

  • Are part of the CEWA Child Safe Framework
  • Detail, clarify and affirm the legislative requirements in WA regarding Mandatory Reporting
  • Detail the legal requirement in WA for Teachers to report all reasonable beliefs of child sexual abuse to the Department of Communities - Child Protection and Family Support
  • Directs processes for Teachers as Mandatory Reporters and others as Notifiers

This important annual training confirms our commitment to the safety of all students at Trinity College and ensures that everyone who is contact with students in any way, is aware of their professional expectations and legal requirements.

Our staff at Trinity College are committed to the education of the whole Child and in providing a Safe, Supportive and Engaging Environment built on Respectful Relationships.
