School Walk Through

Our walk-through afternoon was a great success and was well attended by our families. The activities provided by all the teachers showcased our 'Builders' program and prompted a great deal of interest in this approach to exploring mathematics. We understand and appreciate that many families we not able to participate in the activity due other commitments. For those who were unable to attend the walk through the presentation is currently on the Q&A page of this newsletter.

We have received some feedback from families, and we are developing options to assist in communicating how our classrooms are delivering mathematics and other elements of school life.

Replacement Teachers - COVID

We are still experiencing teacher absences. This week we have had to split or combine classes. This is an ongoing issue across all schools and sourcing CRTs continues to be a major issue.

4-6 Camp Final Payment

We expect all outstanding payments to be completed by Monday 21/03/2022. If families need assistance, please contact Leadership.

Communication

The school provides an e-newsletter weekly which can conveniently operates as a subscription service, where the newsletter will be directly delivered to an email address. Our current analytics indicate we have nearly 500 subscribers to the e-newsletter with approximately 65% of subscribers opening the newsletter on a weekly basis. We look forwarded to seeing that increase significantly over the coming weeks. Alternatively, the newsletter can be accessed directly from the schools website.

The important communication platform is Sentral. It is our official platform by which we communicate school related information. We appreciate parents may be members of a range of social media platforms where parents chat with other members of the school community, which is fantastic. However, I would just like to remind the community that these social media platforms are not sites the school officially uses to deliver important school based information.

We would encourage parents to access our official communication sites or alternatively email your enquiry to the school, using our official email address - newlands.ps@education.vic.gov.au

Student Wellbeing

We all experience anxiety at some stage in our lives.

The last two years have thrown many challenges at us.

Here are some resources that families may find useful to support their child if they are concerned about their child's welfare or feel they need support.
