Year 3/4 Camp Oasis

On Monday, all of Grade 3/4 jumped on the bus to Camp Oasis. We were going from Monday the 7th to Wednesday the 9th of March. This camp was designed to help us become independent, responsible and learn things outside the classroom.

My favourite activity was the reptile house. I really enjoyed watching the reptiles and looking at their names. I even got the opportunity to hold a lizard! It was amazing!

One of the most difficult activities was archery. First of all, I hadn’t done archery in quite a while, so that made it very confusing! Secondly, whenever I did archery, the bows were lighter in weight. I found these really heavy! Thirdly, it was really hard to aim while holding that much weight! My activity group reassured me. “Go Isabella!” shouted Lucy. With a little encouragement, I managed to hit the target! I was so proud of myself and very grateful for my positive activity group!

Soon after, I tried candle making. I had done similar before at Sovereign Hill, but this time we made the candles from scratch. I ended up with a rainbow candle. I found it very peaceful and relaxing and although it took time, I thoroughly enjoyed this!
