1/2 T

Check out some of the wonderful learning in 12T during this fortnight!

During Maths we have been working hard to build our understanding of numbers.

We have started thinking about their place value, and have discovered the importance of 10 in our number system - ten units make one ten and ten 10s make a hundred.

During our Inquiry time, we have been continuing our investigation

about how different materials can be changed.

We have been stretching and bending to discover;

 - what materials can be changed

- what can not be changed

- what stays changed

- what can return to its original state after it changes.

We have also been doing some mixing - specifically flour, sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla -

and do you know what we made? That's right - PANCAKES!

We learnt about why Shove Tuesday is important, signally the day before Lent begins,

and the tradition of using up lots of yummy ingredients.

We all helped out with the process of making them, and students got to eat some or even become the official photographers for the event!

We were also really lucky to have a special session with Miss Renee, where we talked about strategies to help us when we are feeling big emotions. We went through lots of options that we have within our classroom, and we also paid a visit to the hub.
