No Parking in Clemes Staff Carpark

Mask Wearing on Commercial Road Campus and Covid-19 Update
The School has seen a continuing sharp increase in the number of students and staff with Covid-19 or Influenza/Cold illnesses on the Commercial Road campus. Subsequently, it has been recommended, and in the best interest of community health and wellbeing, to ask all students, staff and visitors to wear face masks when indoors on the Commercial Road Campus from this Friday 19 May to Friday 26 May 2023 (inclusive).
All staff and students are encouraged to provide their own personal face mask, however, the School will have a limited backup supply at the school offices. Years 11 and 12 students will be asked to wear a mask as well when they have a class on the Commercial Road Campus (Art, Foods, Drama, Design/Technology, etc.).
A reminder to please refer to and review the School’s Feeling Unwell, Stay at Home Flow Chart, which provides the information you need when managing Covid-19. How can you help us get on top of the recent increase in Covid-19 and other illnesses?
- Follow the mask wearing directive and advice when indoors
- Encourage your child to maintain excellent personal hygiene - washing their hands thoroughly & covering their cough
- Be mindful of others
- Try to maintain some physical distancing
- Use this eForm to notify The Friends’ School of a positive Covid-19 case
The School appreciates your ongoing cooperation as we support a healthy school environment.

Theatre Performance Year 11 IB - One Night Only!
Year 11 IB Theatre students warmly invite family and friends to an evening of Shakespearena silliness as they present Tom Wallnorth’s Shakespeare’s King Phycus. This comedy combines many of your favourite characters - a retiring king, star crossed lovers, sword wielding Romans and Yorick - in a whole new devious and entertaining plot.
When: Thursday May 25, 7-8.30pm
Where: Bill & Marjorie Oats Theatre, High School Campus, entry off Carr Street, doors open 6.45pm
Who: suitable for all with warnings of some slightly gruesome stage action and unforgivable Shakespearean puns

Blended Learning (BL) Update
Following the Blended Learning trial in Term 1, there have been a number of timetable changes. Students are asked to please make sure that they take note of these. Each student will now have four timetabled lessons for their BL classes, but one of these will generally still be run as a BL class with students encouraged to independently complete the set work.
In some cases, students who have completed the BL work for the week may not be required to attend that lesson. If the BL lesson falls in period 1 or 5, and a student has permission to work independently, they may negotiate to work from home. Normal expectations for signing in or out of campus still apply.
Some students may have lost a Study Skills line as a result of timetable changes. There are multiple Study Skills classes available if this additional support is required; please speak to your teacher, Adam, Kate, Amy or Jane about options.
All of the work set, whether face-to-face or independent, must be completed within the set timeframe. Students who are not able to do so may be entered into the catch-up sessions on Tuesday morning or Friday afternoon.
