On Wednesday this week, all students from Prep to Year 6 were involved in National Simultaneous Storytime. This year over 2 million people around Australia enjoyed this book together!
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year, a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, bookshops, homes and many other places around the country. Now in its 23rd year, this vibrant, fun event aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes and addresses learning from the curriculum from Foundation to Year 6.
Here are some pictures from this wonderful whole school reading event. Thank you to Ms Shaw for organising this for our students. It was also great to see families (and toddlers) joining us as well!
Our junior students made some 'Speedy Sloth' masks, our 3/4's researched facts about sloths and wrote book reports including the moral of the story and uploaded their learning to Seesaw, and our senior students enjoyed the live stream to Tooronga Zoo and made some bookmarks for our junior students in response to the story 'The Speedy Sloth'....
If at any time, you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, I encourage you to make a time to chat with your child's class teacher, or to come and see me if you would like to chat about any aspect of learning at Trinity.
Kind Regards,
Annabelle Marinelli
