Year 10 Food Technology

Recently, students in year 10 Food Technology have been learning about The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and food photography. They have also been working on a Power Bowl Design Brief assignment. This task involved the students designing a recipe suitable to serve in a bowl. They then cooked and photographed their dish. The idea was to create a healthy dish that looked amazing and tasted delicious.  I think they achieved their goals!

Earlier this year, the students undertook a Decorated Fruit Cake Design Brief Assignment. Students needed to choose a theme and design their cake and decorations. The students baked the cakes and then over the next two weeks covered them with fondant icing and made decorations. The students did a wonderful job and persevered through some challenges. Here are some photographs showcasing their wonderful efforts.

Well done Year 10 Food Technology students!

Year 8 Visual Communications Design

As part of Year 8 Visual Communication Design, students have been challenged to produce their own Superhero Cityscapes to expand their knowledge of different drawing methods. To produce these fantastic drawings, they were introduced to the drawing method of Two-Point Perspective. This enabled the students to draw their cities close to how we would see them with our own eyes, standing a distance away from the buildings. To further enhance the cities, they were required to add characters to tell a story in their drawings. Please take a look at some of the excellent work below.
