Bringing about the Kingdom of God

How can we bring about the Kingdom of God?

1)Aboriginal Reconciliation:  Aboriginal Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We at Nazareth College are “taking action” during Reconciliation by raising awareness through programs in the classroom, information at the School Assembly, Professional Development for staff and by praying for fruitful Reconciliation.

2)Helping those in need:  During the last few weeks, the St Vinnies group have conducted the St Vinnies Winter Appeal where we have collected food and toiletries for people in need. This shows our link between faith and action. We come to Jesus, He changes our hearts to be like His and we go out into the world nourished by Him, ready to serve others. The Appeal finishes on 6 June with the celebration of the Mass for Social Justice.

3)Allowing the Holy Spirit in our Lives:  Last Sunday was Pentecost Sunday. May the Holy Spirit set our heart ablaze with the fire of God’s love that we may serve Him in joy. May we show the 12 fruits of the Spirit in our daily lives: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity.

For all of us, may we continue to take action on Reconciliation and helping others in need and being open to the Holy Spirit so that our Nazareth College community can be one that truly puts faith into action.

Holy Family of Nazareth – Be our inspiration and our guide.

Jesus of Nazareth – Help us to grow in faith, wisdom and knowledge.
