Celebrating The Word of God

This Sunday’s reading marks Ascension Sunday, forty days since the resurrection of Jesus and his ascension to heaven. Jesus calls us to mission, ‘to make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Our God is not a god relegated to history. God is alive and living through us today, intimately connected to us. But like the disciples, it is easy to forget, to doubt God’s presence. We are reassured that whilst we are bringing Christ’s love to the corners of our world where it is most needed, Jesus gently whispers: ‘Remember I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We reflect on the Good News and ask ourselves, how does it feel to hear these words: “Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age?”

How are you being called to mission?

Loving Creator guide us as we seek to share the message of love with the whole world. Bless us with the strength and wisdom to reach out to those who need to hear the Gospel. Give us the courage to live out our faith each day and to be a shining example of your love.
