Exam Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA)

Year 12 students who have AARA for their upcoming exams have been emailed their decision letters.  Please check your decision letters carefully to ensure you are covered for your upcoming exams and take note of what your exam conditions will be.  All Year 12 students with exam adjustments will be seated in the AARA room.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s eligibility for AARA for their upcoming exams, please contact Head of Learning Enhancement and Support Leona Pearson pearl@staff.mta.qld.edu.au

Year 11 atudents who are eligible for AARA for this term’s exams have now been emailed.  All Year 11 students with exam adjustments will be seated in the AARA room.  If you have any questions with regards to accommodations your child has for specific exams, please contact the Learning Enhancement and Support department at les@mta.qld.edu.au

Students in Years 7 to 10 who are eligible for AARA have all been given an AARA card with their accommodations on the card.  Students must bring the AARA card to their exams. Students in Years 7 to 10 may receive their extra time in exams with the rest of the cohort.

Changes to AARA for Years 7 to 11 are unable to happen after Week 5 this term.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s eligibility to receive AARA, please contact the Learning Enhancement and Support department at les@mta.qld.edu.au

Mount Alvernia bases all AARA for exams on the Queensland Curriculum Authorities (QCAA) recommendations.  If you would like to find out more about the eligibility requirements for AARA, please visit Access arrangements and reasonable adjustments (AARA) | Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (qcaa.qld.edu.au

Nationally Consistent Data collection of Data (NCCD)

Every year, all Australian schools collect information about student with disabilities through the NCCD.  The information collected by the NCCD helps teachers, principals, education authorities, and governments to better support students with disabilities at school.  Mount Alvernia is committed to annual reviews of our learning support systems and processes.  The NCCD helps us to continually improve educational outcomes for all students.  The NCCD counts;

  • The number of school students receiving an adjustment or support due to disability or imputed disability.
  • The level of adjustment they receive to access education on the same basis as other students.

Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all students is an essential part of the NCCD process.  Personal details, such as student names or student identifiers, are not provided to federal education authorities.  If you have any questions or concerns about Mount Alvernia’s Collection of Data, please contact the Head of Learning Enhancement and Support, Leona Pearson, or visit the NCCD fact sheet
