From the Principal

Dear Parents and Parents, 

It has been a wonderfully busy few weeks here at Mt A! I applaud all the students who participated in our first ever Technology Week. Students had the opportunity to learn about AI technologies, speak to a Google Executive, fly drones in the San Damiano Centre, complete a scavenger hunt using Augmented Realty + much more! Our tagline for this week was ‘we own the future’, and I was proud to see so many students owning theirs by getting involved in Tech Week. I extend my thanks to the many Mt A staff members who made this week possible!

Last weekend, we welcomed close to 300 members of our community to our Semester 1 Social Soiree. It was fantastic to come together to for an evening of laughter and connection, in celebration of mothers, aunties, sisters and those that mother us. I hope all who attended enjoyed this evening as much as I did and had the opportunity to take a photo in front of our brand new ‘MTA’ light up letters – we look forward to using these at future college events. Keep your eye out for a copy of these images next week via the College App and MyMtA. 

As you may know, our 2023 Open Day is this Sunday! I would like to thank the hundreds of students that have dedicated their time to be tour guides or assist at one of our many Precincts across campus. With over 1,500 people registered to attend, we are grateful for the sunny weather prediction and look forward to showing prospective families the magic that is Mt A. I also extend my thanks to all the staff that will be attending and our dedicated maintenance team who have been working hard to showcase our beautiful college. 

A reminder that we have launched Phase 2 of MyMtA. You are now able to view all Courses, Co-curricular Activities and Policies and Procedures via the Homepage Dashboard. I encourage our parent/carer community to make themselves familiar with this new functionality. 

As we head into week 6, I hope our students are feeling prepared, rested, and ready for their upcoming exams and assessments. And last, but certainly not least, our 2023 College Musical, Legally Blonde commences next Thursday evening! Students and staff from both Mt A and Padua have been working extremely hard over the past few months to deliver what I’m sure will be an outstanding performance.
