Deputy Principals

Last Day of Term 4
A reminder that all Years 7-9 students finish on Friday 7 December at 12pm. A Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated at 9.20am at St Joseph’s Church. All are welcome.
Year 12
Best wishes to students currently sitting their ATAR examinations.
Year 12 ATAR results will be available online via the TISC website, www.tisc.edu.au from Monday 17 December. University applications are still open but will incur a late processing fee of $160. A major round of offers will be made on Friday 21 December and another round on Tuesday 22 January. Remember changes of preferences close at 11pm on Tuesday 18 December. The School Curriculum and Standards Handbook is also a valuable resource and is available at: https://www.scsa.wa.edu.au/news-items/year-12-handbook-2018
I highly recommend that all students/parents download reports from SEQTA and save them before you lose access to them electronically.
Year 10
It is an extremely important term for Year 10 students. Semester Two examinations are scheduled from Monday 19 November – Friday 23 November. Students only attend school when they have an examination. Examination timetables have been issued to all students. All Year 10 students are required to return to school on Monday 26 November to review exams. The last day for Year 10 students is Tuesday 27 November and will include Mass at 10am and will conclude with a year assembly during Period 6. Students will then commence their Christian Service Learning and/or Work Experience. Any subject or pathway changes can occur by booking an appointment with me after results have been determined and MERs have been met.
Parent Committee
The Parent Committee invites you to a planning meeting on Tuesday 13 November at 6.00pm in the Koinonia Room in the Administration building. Please come along with your ideas for parent seminars and social functions for 2019. All are welcome.

Presentation Night
This week at Presentation Night, Fr Peter presented the Captain and Vice-Captain badges to our Student Leaders for 2019. The presentation of these badges marked the final stage of a process that began with Year 11 students nominating and applying for positions, an extensive interview process and then, more recently, a handover of the badges from the 2018 Student Leaders. With the formal presentation of the badges by Fr Peter at Presentation Night, the 2019 Student Leaders can now take on their new roles and responsibilities with the enthusiasm and dedication we expect of them.
The handover of the badges from this year’s Student Leaders and their final presentation to the new Student Leaders by Fr Peter is highly symbolic. The passing on of the badges between the current leaders to the incoming leaders represents a passing on of the traditions and values associated with these leadership roles. An important responsibility of any leader is to encourage and develop future leaders and so our 2019 Student Leaders will be tasked with providing an example to others through their service to the College and their fellow students that will hopefully guide and inspire the next generation of leaders. In just under a year’s time, it will be the 2019 Student Leaders who will be passing on their badges of office to the next generation of incoming leaders.
The final presentation of the badges by Fr Peter helps to remind us that Jesus is both the perfect model of leadership and our greatest source of strength and guidance. At St Norbert College, all of our students are challenged to ‘serve others’ but for those in formal Student Leadership positions, this must be their mantra. The St Norbert College Student Leaders for 2019 are:
Specialist Captains
College and House Captains
A special vote of thanks to Miss Sarah Gardner who coordinated the whole student leadership interview and selection process in addition to her normal duties as Head of Kilnacrott House. Thanks also to Mr Matthew Biddle, Ms Margaret Kyd, Mr Chad Beins, Miss Maureen Smith, Mr Matthew Price, Mr Aaron D’Souza, Mr Bronson Gherardi, Mr Patrick Ah Fong and Mr Brendan McGrath who invested considerable time and effort in the interview process.
We offer our congratulations to these Student Leaders and look forward to their leadership over the next 12 months.
