From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, Staff and Friends of St Norbert College
“Come Holy Spirit of Youth,
Fill the hearts of young people with the hope and love of Jesus Christ;
enliven our community with the creativity, energy and joy of youth.”
I commence my article with the second verse of the prayer for the 'Year of Youth'. The full prayer was shared by our wonderful Masters of Ceremony, Calum Tavani and Courtney McCrostie, on Tuesday night at the annual College Presentation Night.
This wonderful event, held at the Perth Concert Hall, is always a terrific exhibition of the talents of our students in the areas of faith, the arts, sport, academia and service to others. Our student performances and achievements definitely “enliven our community with the creativity, energy and joy of youth”.
Our thanks to Mr Rod Dowling, Miss Kerri Hilton and a host of wonderful staff in support, for their coordination of the evening, and to Calum and Courtney, who did a tremendous job as the MCs to high and well-deserved acclaim. Special congratulations to Mr Patrick Ah Fong, who was acknowledged as this year’s recipient of the Brother Patrick Doolan medal, recognising his contributions to our College, mirroring the true spirit of St Norbert College and being "Prepared for all good works".
The Year 12 ATAR examinations commenced this week in earnest with the Chemistry exam being first on Monday morning. Our prayers are with all of our students who will complete examinations in the coming weeks which includes students from Years 9 – 11 at varying times until the end of the year.
A reminder to all parents, further to the message from our last newsletter regarding the requirement of the College to provide your residential address details to the Federal Government. Details of our requirements are contained in the attachment below but I request that parents ensure the College has the most up-to-date and accurate records for your family.
Traditionally at the start of November, we faithfully acknowledge All Saints Day and All Souls Day, remembering the Saints and those we have loved and lost from this earthly life. We are all touched by death and loss and the marking of these times with solemn occasions such as All Saints Day and All Souls Day brings some consolation and a reminder of our eternal life in heaven.
And as I conclude, I offer our thoughts and prayers to those in our community who are grieving at this time:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Amen.
God Bless.
Mr S Harvey (Principal)
