Elite Basketball Tournament
On Friday 26 October we attended the Elite Basketball Tournament at Warwick Stadium. The Canons entered four teams in total, Year 7/8 Boys and Girls and Year 9/10 Boys and Girls. The Canons were confident entering the competition having trained hard and prepared well.
Our Year 9/10 Boys had a difficult start to the tournament losing some close games early on in the day but progressed well throughout the tournament and learnt some valuable lessons.
The Year 7/8 Girls just missed out on the Grand Final by percentage but were led strongly by Polly King and Charlize Williams. Our Year 7/8 Boys had a terrific day making it to the Grand Final but went down to a much bigger Kingsway College. The Year 9/10 Girls were a cut above the rest winning all of their games and beating Kennedy Baptist College in the Grand Final by almost 30 points.
Thank you to the staff, scorers and parents in supporting our students on the day.
Mr L Ford (Specialised Basketball Coordinator)
