Telethon
Our Regional League champions did their bit for Telethon recently, taking part in a 24-hour eSports event at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in the city. Competing in a 10 vs 10 eSports DOTA 2 match, the boys joined forces with their opposition (Good Shepherd Catholic College, Queensland) in a friendly playoff against the Flaktest Gaming staff and organisers, and beat them resoundingly!
After showing the adults how it’s done, the boys then competed again in a grand final rematch, all for the benefit of raising funds for Telethon. As the Regional League Australian champions, the boys competed in an exhibition best-of-three match against rivals Good Shepherd, and came away winners once again, cementing their place as High School Cup champions for 2018. The event in which they participated raised more than $5,000 for Telethon across the 24 hours.
Thanks and congratulations to our team of eSports champions Lucas Tan (Captain), Bernard Masillones, Kade Best, Edwin Ceng, Daniel Tan and Jan Claude Busoy. To quote one of the organisers: “An incredibly talented bunch of kids there with bright eSports futures in MOBA's.”
