Thinking Interdependently in Year One

This term, the Year One students have been practising the Habit of Mind of Thinking Interdependently in a variety of ways...

Read with Someone

Here are some photos of us doing 'Read with Someone' in Daily 5. We think interdependently by sitting close to our partner, sharing the reading and helping each other with hard words.

Making paper on our Ceres Excursion

Here are some photos of us making recycled paper on our recent excursion to CERES. We worked in pairs to use a paper making frame to make the paper. It was a bit hard and messy but we encouraged each other and said "You can do it!".

Singing our Peter Pan Song

Every Wednesday, all three classes have been getting together to practise our song for our school concert. All the students in 1M, 1S and 1H have been working together to be sensible and calm while there are so many of us in the room! We have been learning the words to our song and trying to keep in time with our singing.

Outside at snack and lunchtime

We think one of the most important times to practise the habit of Thinking Interdependently, is while we are playing outside with our friends. We make sure we include others, talk to people in a friendly way and if we have a problem, we stay calm and try to sort it out and ask for help if we need it.
