Assistant Principal - Curriculum

Welcome to the 2019 school year –  it is full of possibilities and opportunities. The new year is a great time to make a fresh start and resolve to be a proactive and responsible learner every day. New classes, new teachers, new timetables – Term 1 is the perfect time to commit to following up the opportunities that are presented for great learning each lesson. Everyone can learn to high standards and will be encouraged to do so throughout the year. Later in this newsletter, Mrs Maxworthy, introduces a valuable resource for consolidating what has been learnt in the classroom. I encourage all students to spend the time to investigate its potential use.

The Teaching and Learning team continue to ensure relevant and engaging activities in each curriculum area. Collaborative work will be a focus this year – for students in the classroom and for teachers planning, working and evaluating together. A NESA (NSW Educational Standards Authority) Audit will occur at the end of Term 1, when representatives from the Catholic Schools Office and from NESA will affirm the good work occurring at the College.
