Year 12

Manresa

The Year 12s finished a busy Term One with the Manresa Year 12 Retreat. For the first time in many years the Retreat was held at one venue. The students participated in a wide range of activities including: High ropes, commando course, mask making, a Quiz Night, a presentation by Mr Henderson and an opening and  closing Liturgy. The Retreat focussed on a piece of scripture from Isaiah “I have called you by name, you are mine”. The students were able to reflect upon  their relationships with  their family, themselves and with God. It was a fantastic few days which was thoroughly enjoyed by both the staff and students.

Student Comments

"Manresa was a great experience to take time off from the busy Year 12 term and relax, reflect and engage in life both with others and family. It was so much fun and such a positive and warm experience."

"Manresa was a great experience which allowed me to connect to my family and look deep into my spirituality opening my eyes up to the world. It contained activities and experiences which I will carry with me through life."

"I really benefited from the whole experience. I came out of it feeling very content with life. It felt like my mind has really cleared, and refreshed. I feel like I have also realised how important positivity is in life. It was a great opportunity to step back from our busy lives, reflect on our own lives (relationships, family, friendship, spirituality) and consider the impact we make on other peoples lives."

"It was eye-opening and a great way to get to know more people in my year. I learnt a lot about myself and my faith/spirituality."

"A time filled with a sense community and belonging. A great way to re-think who you are, your relationships with all. A great bonding time with students who you mightn't know well as well as teachers. You get to see all the positive things people think of you. Leaves you with a strong feeling of being content and at ease. One of my personal favourite schooling moments."

"I believe Manresa was a great experience. It not only allowed myself to broaden my friendship group, and grow closer to my close friends, but also allowed me to discover my own self. Manresa was a terrific experience, and occurred at a perfect time, where I think people needed time to reflect on their own self, family and grow closer with others, and away from the constant stress of achieving high academic results."

"It was an incredibly enjoyable experience! One I'll never forget. The people, the place, the message and the overall sheer brilliance of it is something that everyone needs to experience."
