Cert II Sport and Recreation COMPETENCY EXPERIENCE
The Cert II Sport and Recreation group travelled to Geelong last Tuesday for a competency support experience, which will help in providing real evidence to complete their modules. The group included Ben McKelvie, James Guthrig, Mackayla Ralph, Peyton Neaves and James Plunkett. It was led by Mr Hill. We took part in many activities such as indoor rock climbing and Bounce with extreme dodgeball.
The excursion focused on have some practical activity that was challenging and different to experiences available in Hamilton whilst also allowing for real life examples of quality service, equipment set up, maintenance of facilities, cleaning and health and safety. It also provided extended knowledge of recreational facilities and the knowledge associated with these.
This excursion was originally planned for a tour of GMHBA stadium to watch Geelong FC in action and also the Deakin Uni tour. These however couldn’t occur due to covid restrictions. was rescheduled and reshaped multiple times due to lockdown.
We have another excursion to Halls Gap hopefully soon to see behind the scenes at the Zoo and complete our bush craft skills. We'd like to thank Mr Hill for helping us to organize the excursions and driving us, and well done on not giving up on it. We originally all played a part in organising some of them as well. The trip was great and thoroughly worth the wait.
Babies!
We welcomed two new members of the Baimbridge community last issue, now we have the cute pics to go with the names.
Both families are doing well :)
School for Student Leadership Haining Farm students return
Unfortunately our crew that embarked on the School for Student Leadership at the Haining Farm Campus has had to cut their experience short and return to us. From what we have seen, they definitely embraced the values of the SSL program and came home with some very valuable lessons.
You can see our students Rhylan & Adele present the final assembly on Facebook - if you visit you can scroll to 24:50 to hear our students speak: SSL STUDENTS FINAL ASSEMBLY
Happy Birthday to Archie Buck who celebrated his whilst away.
Next issue we will hear from the kids themselves about their experiences.
The students are keen to implement their Community Learning Program so watch this space for what they achieve.
