From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers, 

Today we celebrated Book Week with students and teachers alike dressing up in their favourite book character.  It was great to see so many different characters on the day.  Each PLC celebrated with a parade in smaller cohorts as we are still unable to get together in a whole school assembly.

A big thank you to Mrs Williams  for organising this event.   

We are fortunate to be able to celebrate these small events, given our schools in Melbourne are unable to be together and learn at school.  Planning some future events is somewhat difficult as we are unable to make definite decisions for now.  In some cases decisions will be made within the week or even shorter.

Here are some example of events we hope can occur, but cannot guarantee:

· Father’s day stall on Friday 3rd September—tentative 

· Curriculum Day (Student free) on Monday 6th September—more than likely

· School Disco on Thursday 16th September—tentative 

· Ballarat Young Authors’on Thursday 16th September—tentative 

Next term we plan to hold our Grade 3 and Grade 5 camps.  There will be Parent information sessions provided to parents on Wednesday 1st September via WEBEX video. 

Grade 3 Camp Information session will start at 3.30pm on Wednesday 1st Sept.

Grade 3 Camp is planned to occur on Monday 29th Nov—Tuesday 1st Dec.

Grade 5 Camp Information session will start at 4.00pm on Wednesday 1st Sept. 

Grade 5 Camp is planned to occur on Mon 25th Oct—Weds 27th Oct.

The meeting links will be provided to parents on the Monday 30th August.  If you can’t make these sessions information booklets will be provided to the students.

DASH CARE 

We have moved DASH care to the stadium this week.  We are lucky to have spaces to accommodate our students afterschool.  We have two co-ordinators managing the program Tania Gallagher and Bridie Boag.

DPS CAFÉ 

We have our DPS café available for hot coffees and hot chocolates in the morning. The DPS café opens at 8.15am and closes at 9.00am every day. Hot drinks my be bought with cash or vouchers can be purchased via QKR or the front office.
