SRC, Photos, a Short Story and Art

Drop Everything and Read (DEAR)

Student Representative Council News

On Wednesday 28th July we had hot chocolates and crumpets for breakfast! It was great! And then, after that we even got extra playtime! Thank you to the SRC for organising it. Everyone chipped in and it got some good praise… (Amazing! No, super duper! – Kirra). Sadly, we still had to do school work. But for the day we actually raised over $60! So thank you if you bought something!

In fact, it was such a success that we’re thinking about having another one but with Milos and muffins (English muffins)… yum yum!

Delicious. Highest number in the world rating! – Ebony.

I give it 100 stars and it was good. – Kyesha.

The Stolen Sun

A short story written by Sonic, in response to a photo from Pobble, a writing resource website.

Once upon a time, there was a lady. Not a normal lady though. She walked through the land carrying the Sun, giving people light.

One day she died and the Sun stayed in one spot! The ground went up in flames and started to melt. Lots of people died and even some animals went extinct!

Some governments started to worry that the whole Earth would melt to a big ball of goo.

But then a boy saw the Sun and took the rope that held it, and started to walk.

Although the boy didn't know that he was saving the world, he just walked on, until the Sun started to spin by itself around the Earth.

School Photos

The School Photographers will be at school this Wednesday. Envelopes, which were sent out a couple of weeks ago, need to be returned on the day with money enclosed, if ordering. Please ensure your child wears the current school uniform on the day. Please contact Gaye if you have any questions.

Art Therapy

Anna from Create Art Studio in Mullumbimby will be doing some art sessions with our students on a couple of Mondays, starting on the 16th August (weeks 5 and 6). We are looking forward to expanding our art programme with a professional artist at Larnook PS. Can’t wait to see the results!
