Staff News

Due to a number of factors there will be a couple of staffing changes to start the term. Di Burns has offered to teach Class 3/4C this term. Sue F will return to VCAL to support their offsite learning days. Thank you to both of you for your flexibility. Susan will join us from ANZUK to cover our teacher release periods. This will commence from Week 2.

Following Kris's secondment to DET from Term 3, Phil Haigh will be continuing as Acting AP. His portfolio will continue to oversee the staffing and operations of our Secondary Community (7-12) as well as leading our strategic priorities focused on Achievement (Teaching & Learning). Robyn will continue to oversee our Primary Community (P-6) and also lead our strategic priories focused around Engagement & Wellbeing. As we commence the ‘develop and planning’ stage of our 2020-2024 SSP for the rest of this year, we believe that having teams aligned to these areas will ensure productive delivery of our improvement strategies and activities. Joan has decided to continue her leave in Term 3. We hope you enjoy this extended time with your family.

I would like to congratulate Jacqui Hok, Gabi Maher and Sean Gales who have been successful in being appointed as Acting Learning Specialists until the end of the year. Following consultative advice, for Semester 2 we will trial an in-class model of Learning Specialist Support to not disrupt classes and students’ learning. All learning specialists in class will be given some additional time release to fulfill their roles and will continue to lead their own PLT. Julie will continue in her role in leading differentiation focused around inclusive practice working closely with our Allied Health.

Congratulations to Mary who will commence her new role as a Senior Speech Pathologist and Julia as a Senior Occupational Therapist to co-lead our Allied Health Team.

I would also like to formally welcome and congratulate Justin for offering to be the Foundation (P-2) PLT Leader for the rest of this year.

Congratulations to Belinda who has now been awarded her provisional VIT registration and will continue to work as the classroom teacher in Prep.
